Qualification & National Showdown
We have made a calculation based on 300 participants – 200 male and 100 female athletes and suggest using a flexible system that allows us to react to changing participant numbers right up until the event. This should provide a solid basis for planning the event schedule. Compared with the original plan for 500 participants (20 heats with 25 athletes each), reducing the number of heats by five also gives us more flexibility to react to the actual situation on site.
NATIONAL QUALIFICATION
Number of heats: 10 male heats + 5 female heats = 15 heats in total
At 20 minutes per heat, this results in 300 minutes / 5 hours of total race time, excluding the two National Showdown runs.

This should provide a solid basis for planning the event schedule.
